It’s that time of the year again! It’s time to pack your bags and head to the Mobile World Congress! Can’t wait to schmooze, hobnob, and network with the biggest names in mobile? Remember there’s also Barcelona and all it has to offer (❤ you, Gaudi!)

If you’re new to the conference, don’t forget the essentials: a warm coat, your branded clothes for the event, comfy walking shoes, Tylenol, cough drops, a phone charger, and a data plan with at least 1 GB.

How to Plan for One of the Best Events of the Year

With too many parties and events to count – including one of our own – how do you fit it all in? So happy you asked.

All it takes is a little effort, ingenuity, and a lot of coffee to make the most of every minute at MWC. Whether that means meeting with 100,000+ attendees, sneaking a peek of the new LG G6, visiting Barcelona’s best sites, gulping down sangria, and/or eating tons of tapas – it’s up to you.

Here’s Your Go-To Schedule for the Mobile World Congress 2017

Sunday, February 26

2:00 pm Hopefully you’ve pre-registered, are “Good to Go,” and can just pick up your badge at the airport – seriously, do this.

3:00 pm Check into the hotel, shower, and try your best not to look like you just came off a germ-infested magical flying machine

8:00 pm Leave the computer in your room safe – most likely you won’t need it at the conference – and go to one of the many MWC Welcome Parties like the Welcoming Party hosted by Adscend Media & Newzoo. There you’ll meet up with your BTB (Best Travel Buddy) from last year’s conference and make your plans for the rest of the week.

9:00 pm Grab your coat and take a chilly walk with your BTB on La Rambla, spending €20 on the sensational street performers who deserve even more – and for the love of paella, watch your wallet.

10:00 pm Speaking of – eat paella, tons of tapas, and drink sangria at one of the slightly less overpriced restaurants a block away from La Rambla because you’re so not a tourist anymore. And find a way to inconspicuously pat your pocket every so often just to make sure your wallet is still there.

Monday, February 27

9:00 am Game on, the show has officially begun. But, who shows up on time? Now make your annual quick stop to the beautiful Bari Gotic (Gothic Quarter) with your BTB.

9:20-10:30 am Walk around the neighborhood, stop by the cathedral, check out the Medieval architecture…in other words, enjoy every minute of it.

11 am Pick up some tapas to go and head straight to the conference, explaining to your colleagues that you accidentally went through the South Entrance and ended up in the VIP Networking Lounge talking to some bigwig from Samsung, who just happens to love your company.

11 am-12:10 pm Since you’re doing such a great job, treat yourself with a talk on AI: Chatbots & Virtual Assistants.

12:30-6 pm Pat your pocket to make sure you have a hefty stack of folded business cards and hit up as many booths as you can in your hall, grabbing plenty of giveaways on the way. (Is that a mini iRobot for the phone? Gotta love MWC17!)

6-6:30 pm Meet up with your BTB for a keynote with the Netflix CEO.

6:30-7:30 pm Famished? Grab a bite to eat around the corner at Meet & Eat (16 food stands) at L’Hospitalet, Plaza Europa, and make a quick stop at Zara.

7:45-9 pm Check out the latest in smartphones, tablets, apps…at Pepcom’s MobileFocus Global, and of course knock the socks off of all the press there with your company’s amazing innovations, then drop by IoT Stars MWC17 to see the coolest IoT startups pitch their products, before sneaking into 360Live or MEF Connects for last-minute networking.

9:30 pm-12 am Collapse back at the hotel – just kidding. You’re only in Barcelona once a year! Drag your jetlagged butt to Mobile World Circus Party!

Tuesday, February 28

9-11:30 am Arrive at the hall right when the doors open. Set up the booth and have a few morning meetings with existing clients, assuring them that 2017 is going to be the best year yet.

11:30 am -12 pm Catch the second half of a keynote on Building the 5G Economy.

12:30-5 pm Use your MWC Event App to network and meet as many of the 100,000+ attendees – making sure they know that the best booth is G11 in Hall 8.1. Quickly stop by Innovation City in Hall 4 and see what’s the latest from Huawei.

5:00-6:30 pm Grab a beer and a bite at Matomy’s – booth G11, in hall 8.1, and take part in the best happy hour that MWC has to offer!

MWC invitation Feb17

10 pm – Last Call: Jump by The Official MWC Party: The MMIX Party with special guests, Glass Animals. Never heard of them? No matter.

Wednesday, March 1

8 am Enjoy the most important meal of the day at the Breakfast Session: Purpose-driven Business in the Age of Populism.

9 am Arrive on time to the hall, and help your colleagues set up the booth.

9:30 am-1 pm Take a bathroom break and meet up with your BTB before escaping, grabbing a subway, and heading to UNESCO World Heritage site Park Güell. And stand astonished as you stare again at the magnificent multicolored mosaics and monuments created by Gaudi’s genius.

1:30 am-4 pm High five your BTB before heading back to the conference. Then schmooze and network with others like a maniac at your booth and at all the informal parties around you to make up for your crazy long bathroom break.

4-5 pm Stop in at Keynote 10 and see what’s new in Conversational Commerce.

5-6 pm Network back at the booth, and feel satisfied you landed that major client you talked to on Day 1 of the conference.

6:30-7:30 pm Grab a cocktail with the ladies at the Female Founder Happy Hour. (Not a lady? Tag along with a female colleague.)

8 pm Make your way to Camp Nou for an 8:45 pm game with your BTB to watch FC Barcelona vs. Sporting! Go Barcelona, go!

11 pm-Last Call Leave the game and party hop between Mobile Apps Party, Swedish Beers, 4YFN Closing Party, and the Twitter Party.

Thursday, March 2

9 am-12 pm Arrive on time to MWC and close as many new potentials as you can. No biggie for a Networ-King/Queen like you.

12:30-4 pm Lunch break. Rendezvous with your BTB at the water fountain and run out to the magnificent Sagrada Família with your pre-ordered online tickets.

4:30-6 pm Get back to the conference and continue to schmooze and network with as many of the 100,000+ awesome attendees as you can.

6:30-7:30 pm Catch a late entrance for the Casa Batlló and marvel at another Gaudi masterpiece.

9 pm-12 am Enjoy one of the best meals of your life at TripAdvisor’s #1 recommended restaurant, Uma, thanks to your BTB reserving a spot 3 months in advance.

Friday, March 3

Stay an extra day, eat more paella and tapas, drink sangria, and head back to a few of your favorite sites with your BTB: Magic Fountain, Monserrat Mountain, Sitges beach…

12 am Say a tearful goodbye to your BTB and make plans for the next conference before catching a red eye back home.

Want to meet our awesome team at MWC? Schedule a meeting now, or stop by booth G11 in hall 8.1!
