A New Era for Matomy: Domain Monetization Experts Team Internet Join the Team

Team Internet

Today we took another step forward in the continuing evolution and expansion of Matomy with the acquisition of a majority ownership stake in Team Internet AG, a Munich-based direct navigation search company. We will integrate Team Internet’s services into Matomy to form the core of our new domain monetization capabilities.

Founded in 2010, Team Internet is comprised of two distinct businesses – Parking Crew, which provides monetization services to domain owners; and DNTX, a performance-oriented marketplace for direct navigation traffic for desktop and mobile devices.

This acquisition allows us to broaden our scale and expertise in the growing domain monetization industry with a genuinely innovative service. In addition, we will find numerous synergies between Matomy’s performance-based marketing capabilities and Team Internet’s domain monetization services.

Our ambition is to provide our clients and media partners with a comprehensive suite of multichannel performance marketing services. By integrating Team Internet’s innovative domain monetization services and high-quality traffic sources we will be able to offer a more comprehensive suite of performance-based marketing and monetization services.

Multi-Billion-Dollar Industry

Domain monetization is one part of the multi-billion-dollar domain parking industry. Direct navigation traffic has a 4.23% conversion-to-sale rate, according to research by Susquehanna Financial, outperforming other digital traffic sources.

Team Internet has established itself as a leader in the multi-billion-dollar domain monetization industry. The company currently reaches more than 100 million unique users per month, and its Parking Crew service has monetized more than 23 million domains over the last four years. In addition, the company processes more than 3 billion ad placement bids per month across its DNTX platform.

Commenting on the acquisition, Team Internet CEO Nico Zeifang said: “This is a defining move for the Team Internet business and our team,” said Zeifang. “With the support of Matomy and its global reach we will continue to accelerate our growth and increase our market share through the deployment of innovative technology and capabilities.””

The acquisition of a majority of Team Internet represents the fourth such deal by Matomy since the beginning of 2013. Last year, we acquired MediaWhiz, a leading North American performance marketing agency, which became Matomy US; mobile affiliate network MobAff, which we merged into Matomy’s global mobile performance marketing business; and the performance-based social advertising agency (Adotomi) from Adquant, which is now Matomy Social.
